Hi
After putting back in place the brake control unit, I found a black plastic hose, 4mm diameter , it goes somewhere down, I can't see because it goes deep down, but my problem is the upper end of it, which I can't locate to where it should be connected. I hope that you will be able to see it on the attached pic - marked with the red arrow.
Thanx for your help. I need it!

Can you get a wider angle shot? Can't tell where in the engine bay that is?
However what I can say is that from the minor flare on it a few cm in, it's definitely meant to push up inside a rubber hose. Normally this would be part of the LHM low pressure return system.

Hi Iain and thanx for the swift response.
I hope that the pic as per your request can shed some light and help me solve the problem. I've posted my question only after searching and looking to where that hose might go but unfortunately I can't find any of it. it should connect to some rubber hose - that was my assumption as well, but I wasn't able to find where to.

Not certain, but could it go here (green arrow) to what looks like the hydraulic reservoir returns?
Could be completely wrong!
Maybe a shortish length of rubber coupling pipe is missing, as the reservoir snouts are all rigid plastic..Could be completely wrong!

Hi WE
Unfortunately not. the port marked by you with the green arrow holds a rubber hose that need to be replaced because it was torn at two places, so I removed the hose prom the port in order to install a new hose. as far as I can tell, it has nothing to do with the hose in question.
Is there any source to info/ routing of the "plumbing"?

You can look at the diagrams in this post: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=60663&p=582816&sid= ... 80#p582600
It is most likely to be an LHM return hose, so diagram B or D or F.
Note that those diagrams are for an earlier non-hydractive Xantia so may not exactly match you car, but may give you some idea where to look.

If it is just a fluid return pipe (verify by attaching a small bottle to its end, and see what eventually emerges), then you could simply tee it (or otherwise connect it) to one of the reservoir top returns. Some of the return pipes actually bring back very tiny amounts of fluid.
Would be good to get a definitive answer though.

Re: Help please - where this hose from? Xantia MKii
Hi
Is it possible that this hose is connected to the upper side of the brake control unit? to the lower side goes a hose that is a part of of a hose connected to the reservoir top returns, about that I'm sure. is it possible that the lower hose supplies the LHM to the brake control unit and the upper hose - the one that I've pictured and posted - is the return line to the reservoir? but in that case, I have another puzzle with another unknown (yet) hose.
Thanx.

Can you see where the other end of the pipe goes to?

Which other hoses did you disconnect and reconnect during the recent work on the car? It obviously can't be confused with any that you have not touched.
