If I'm going to buy a 2011 C3 HDi...

Post by tontonjon »

I have read the reviews of the Mk2 C3 and it seems OK. A bit worried that it seems to be cursed with door lock issues (see my other thread if you don't know why this may be an issue!).

I have found two diesel models nearby and am going to have a look later today, but can anyone suggest things I need to look for before I buy? One is 68000 (cam belt at 80000 / 10 years?) and I'll ask whether the car has had an Eolys top up recently (how do you pronounce Eolys?). We're going to be doing town driving mostly, so really ought to get a petrol version - but I can't find one yet. I'll probably not buy today anyway...

Thanks in advance!

Just say 'Diesel Additive' Jonanthan :-D

So for that year, you'll be looking for the C3 (A51) from 2010 - 2016.

They are a large step forward in quality over the previous models. Have a read here on Parkers for all the low down, which may help you.

If you know you really ought to have a petrol do yourself a favour & hang off for a petrol. It will most likely be less hassle in the future, especially as you know its really only going to be about town use. That sounds like DPF issues waiting to happen.

Wheeler,

Yes, that's what we think too.

Saw a nice Peugeot 107 this morning...
