Eolys fluid?

Post by danny_c5 »

I was wondering if anyone could give any advice on the Eolys fluid for my c5 mk2 54 plate 2.0hdi.

The tank has green connectors and since having the car I haven’t replaced the fluid and unsure when/if this has been done by previous owners.

Where is the best place to get the fluid and how much will I be paying for the fluid?

I am not getting any error messages on the car relating to this but after doing some reading wondering if it’s something that needs doing?

Cheers

No - you never change the fluid, only top it up when needed.

That is the diesel particulate additive and is very expensive and highly toxic stuff. You only need to top it up when you get the warning light telling you the fluid is low.

From your VIN, your RPO (build date) is 10238, so the Additive was originally filled with Eolys 176 with Green connectors.

Walker supply an OEM approved alternative Eolys 176 and is product code 80501 for the 3LT kit and 80601 for the 1 Lt kit.

It is about £130.36 for the 3 Lt kit. You must never mix the different types of additive fluid or it can destroy the additive dosing system. The only 2 types than can be mixed are the Eolys 176 and the Infineum F7995 .
