Ok, no problems Jonathan, I completely understand.

The more of the symptoms and odd behaviour we get helps narrow the issue down further. I'm almost certain the BSI is the cause. But in order to get it fixed, you would need access to Lexia in order to take a note of all the ECUs and parameters that are there to compare against and telecode back in once you had the BSI back, after it had been programmed and coded to the car, which a dealer would need to download for you. So possibly a £150 to repair the BSI and say another £100 - £150 ish for the dealer to programme the BSI.

Remote diagnostics are not the easiest thing to do! :-D

If you are gong to move it on, you might want to put a post up in the For Sale / Wanted section here:

Best of luck.

I've been watching this thread with interest as I'd like to have a crack at it with Diagbox... except Sherborne's a 100-mile round trip (and other reasons).

If I could get it transported here, I could work at it as and when my health allows.

It would be worth a shot Mike, but there is the possibility that with the BSI behaving like it is, that there may not be any dialogue with it via Lexia. If there is, I suspect there will be lots of associated errors - but one has to start somewhere. The symptoms are very similar to those on the link I provided earlier where they need repairing.

It'll be a good experience for me.
Having read your link (and others) it does sound likely the BSI needs repairing/replacing which would give me the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with these common units and see if they're MikeT-friendly at all. :)
