the lock is broken that switches of the alarm on a 1995 xm.does anyone know how to reach the siren so that i can disable it?i don't want to chop through wires willy nilly.

Presumably you mean the lock just behind the drivers headlight? Is it not possible to tackle it from the lock end?
Otherwise the siren is behind the bumper at the drivers side. The only way to get to it is to remove the bumper.

noz.yes that is the lock i mean, when i put the key in to disable the siren it just turns round and does nothing.it pleases itself when to go off so i thought of working directly on the siren.from the wiring diagram it looks like cutting one earth on the siren might do the trick.
