My dear (in all senses) wife left the lights on & managed to flatten the battery, on our Xsara TD. Fortunately, she was at her brother's house & he had a spare charged up battery - she then drove home, all of 300 yards. I have a simple battery charger - can I just clip this straight onto the battery terminals as they are, or, remove battery connectors first, then attach charger? Do I need to be wary of disturbing any other equipment such as airbags, or electronic stuff?
Cheers, Paul.

Just connect the charger to the battery terminals without removing anything. I have never agreed with the concept of 'blowing' the diodes in the alternator. Assuming your charger is working properly it shouldn't produce any more volts than the alternator when it's working.
Just charge as normal. No problem.
