I am trying to remove the steering column cover on the wife's 2004 C3 to look at the faulty indicator ( it won't click into place for a left turn) but I can't really see any screws to undo the cover like on most other cars. There are 2 tiny hole at the bottom of the underneath cover but so small I can't even see what's in there. Taken a couple of pics and they look like very small Torx screws but can't be sure
Has anyone got any advice on what I need to undo to allow me to get to the steering column to see what the actual issue is with the indicator
Thanks in advance

Re: C3 Steering column cover removal
Welcome!
Doesn't look like there are any screws, must just be clipped. I'll see if I can find instructions later:
The fault will be with the COM2000 unit, which has both stalks on it. There are myriad different ones, need the VIN to confirm the right part. There is (or was) a guy in Bradford can repair them.

Thanks for the info. I have tried to prize them apart but no luck. I have added the photos I have taken of the holes underneath item B on your picture. They are clearer than on my phone and they do really look like Torx screws.
I'll have to take a look at the VIN to work out which type of COM2000 unit I need. I am hoping I don't need to take the steering wheel off to get to the COM2000 though.

You will need to remove the steering wheel and the airbag connectors to get to the the comms unit.
If you PM or post your VIN we can identify the correct model as there are literally hundreds of them and the replacement needs to be correctly matched to your car. I can help with instructions for access if required.

Yes, the instructions say remove the screws. I expect they are T20, you will need a long thin driver to get them out!

Sorry, had a few other things crop up in the last couple of months more important than this issue.
Finally got round to this and the VIN number is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Thanks

Ok, so the part number for your car is 6239VA. The part from Citroen is £327.73 from Citroen inc. VAT, quite expensive and will need coding on top of that - however I have located an alternative supplier that specialise in these and they will code them for you:
http://www.peugeotpartsforsale.com/citr ... rch=6239va
These are £192 inclusive.

Re: C3 Steering column cover removal
watching with interest. Daughter has a 2005 C3 of the same age, no need to remove the column shroud yet, but nice to have the reference should the need arise.
I've always found that Steering Wheels need some considerably less than gentle persuasion to remove. Nut to the end of the Taper, a heavy blow with a flat ended Drift and knees pulling the wheel towards you.
You might also need a deep Socket to undo said nut.
Also note that there's a 'Safe Removal and Reconnection of the Battery' thread which is worth visiting.

Thank you so much Marc for spending time on this. Unfortunately, someone hit the wife's C3 up the back and the insurance company has written it off, only offering £1000.
Going on the price of the indicator stalk and the issues I had just changing a headlight bulb, I will be pushing my wife to buy something other than a Citroen now, though what we will get anywhere for £1000 is not going to be good.
Thanks again for all your help

I think you'll find it's not just a Peugeot/Citroen problem. Many (most?) modern cars seem to be made without thought for easy replacement of headlamp bulbs or other service items.
