What is the problem? Does it require a specialist or just a good mechanic?

And a couple more (should you need them). Generally the best way to find out if you do need a Citroen specialist is to ask for advice on this forum...as jeremy has suggested.
(1) Check your Yellow pages - or search this forum (maybe the Peugeot one too) for a garage in Curdridge (between Park Gate and Botley). Jon will also have details as they order from GS&. It may be on Vanny's Citroen specialist guide (entries by recommendation only).
(2) Ex-citroen mechanic in Fareham now running an all-makes servicing/repair business- Steve Parkinson in Blackbrook Road (trades as SP motors?). Used to use him before I went DIY for most things.

Hi thanks for this, I contacted the garage at Curdridge and got it booked in with them.
The reason I was looking for a garage was I felt that I was being ripped off by my usual garage, they always seem to put an extra nought at the end of all the bills when it came to my Xantia.
Cheers

looks like I may have found it! is it the CurBridge (confusingly about two miles from curDridge) motor company, they are advertising as Peugeot / Citroen specialists on 01489 780782. what have they quoted?, please post when your work is done with a review! (I've got my cambelt service impending hence the interest)

That's the one I was thinking of - and what you've said just explains why I've never been sure of the right way to spell that location!
Haven't used the garage as such but have spoken to owner and mechanics on a few occasions and received informed answers to questions with a helpful attitude. Last time I was there they were servicing an 84/5 series 1 BX for one of their customers (and I've seen a DS or ID Safari outside before now)....

Had Buzz Arnold do my cambelt, auxilary belt and front centre sphere total cost of £189.00 (inc vat) which didn't seem too bad also in the course of my work I popped into the Curbridge Motor Company (we service his vehicle lifts it turns out!...small world), very pleasant guy who gave me a lot of his time to look over my Xant, as a further aside he is selling a 2.0i Xantia sx on an M with 68k and FSH for a reasonable £800 (exactly what I paid for mine with similar miles etc) nice looking car.
