The non starting came to a head at work tonight.. the starter ..I had nothing to hit it with and called the aa. Feel like a spanner ! She's in the lock up for now..

The juddering chaps.. I am so sure it's the third gear related clutch pack(s) ..it did it noticeably in 6th tonight.. is there a connection there ? Or is the fact it happens only at 1500 to 2000 revs relevant somehow ?

I just don't know how to diagnose if the gearbox is at fault or not and this is affecting the cars future.any ideas ?

There is no moral maze. The number of people we all know who've been shafted by a car dealer at some point or another is not small. Karma etc. Get it p/ex'd asap. They'll likely only stick it through auction anyway.. where everyone is aware they could be buying an old shagsack of a motor.
