Light now off :)

Took a bit of finding but got there in the end - they always hide it in different places. There was no option to put in the amount added, just a reset - afterwards it reported 1220ml; despite Gary having added 3000ml!! Anyway it should be off for a while now - next will be a regen or clean of the filter which it is reporting required in 15000 km (I think it is km; as it says 150k km on the filters, which tallies with the 94k miles the odo is showing.

Yes it can be confusing because it’s the amount of additive in the filter counter that you reset to zero, as it counts up how much has been injected over a period of time.

Excellent job both.

I didn't do that, Marc - I went in to repair, and there was a button for 'Refill for additive' or similar. I would only reset the DPF additive counter if the DPF had been cleaned (and then I am sure there is a button for that too. If you can find it!). There were repair options for all sorts of things, including replacing cylinder head and exhaust manifold :?

Is that the pouch based system then? It’s probably quite different from the tank refill system on others, with different options it seems. Which is why I’m still concerned about that reading of fluid not sounding right...

I’ll check and document the process when I do my X7, as I think that process is triggered from the Injection ECU menu on mine. There is an option for replacing DPF, but also several others to do with the additive, one just for topping it up IIRC.

Done via the injection ECU - there was no additive ECU listed on Gary's car (not even a space for one!). It's a tank based system, and there were no options it just said refill - I was expecting it to ask how much had been put in, but it didn't then just said 'Programming complete'! Anyway, if the light comes back in 30k or something if Gary's still got it, and there's fluid left in the tank, it can just be done again! I didn't check what it was saying about the tank / level before reset.

Interesting as I will be about to reset mine, after the refill.

New battery on its way so hopefully Diagbox works a little better as the battery would appear to have been my issue because car would go into economy mode in about 10- 15minutes.

Re-manufactured rack also purchased will update other thread about this soon.

Overall the most I've paid for parts for any car I have had.

I suspect that there may be a variation of procedure depending on engine and injection variant (Bosch, Dlephi, Siemens etc.), as each also has separate documentation and procedures.
I think you have the Delphi Injection system on yours Kenny, so even though it is a different engine with a different Particle Filter setup, it will be good to build a picture up of the differences in resetting these where possible.
