Re: Transponder codeing
You can, with proof of vehicle ownership, get the security code from Citroen. They may well charge a fee (around £20).

You will need the correct confidential code first for the relevant BSI. A fellow member was charged £15 just yesterday for his code, so is variable.
Once you have that, you can code the key, but will need to do all the keys in the same session.

That'll do it. It's not too bad as the dealer gets charged by Citroen too.

Re: Transponder codeingl
They can’t be coded again to a different BSI and Engine ECU. The key fob(s) / housing you have now were likely to have been from the replacement ECUs from the donor vehicle when it was replaced. If you are going to replace it back with the original BSI, you’ll also need the matching engine ECU and keys, or new blank transponder fobs. The transponders can only be coded once to a BSI, but can be re-paired to the same BSI as needed (if you added a second replacement key for eg), where you then need to reprogram the entire set- but that is not the same as coding a blank key from new. Once a new transponder is initially matched to a BSI and engine ECU, that is it.
Assuming for the year, you’ll be using Lexia software.
Connect up, select vehicle, enter the RPO number of the vehicle as requested.
Go to diagnosis, run a global diagnosis
When it has finished listing all the ECUs, go to the top and select BSI option and enter configuration.
Scroll down the bottom until you see the ‘programming’ option.
Select this and on the next menu, select ‘Key Programming’
Then follow the guided instructions carefully and follow exactly as asked. Some operations are timed, so be prepared and make sure you have everything you need to hand including all the keys to be programmed. Any keys excluded from the session will be cancelled and won’t start the vehicle.

Re: Transponder codeing
Just to second Marc's comments. It's a simple procedure, I've just done it myself today.
I had a look at this video first just to see what I was up against but it was pleasingly straightforward:

Re: Transponder codeing
Elis has posted a pic of doing this in Diagbox, but I think your Relay is 2002?? IIRC then is will be the Lexia software that is launched for earlier vehicles, so will look different than the screenshot above. But is essentially the same procedure and will be guided once you get into the BSI configuration

They do sell out quite regularly - but they do get new stock in relatively quickly.

Re: Transponder codeing
I've got en eBay one, and seems I got a decent (ish... The 30 pin connector for older cars like Xantia was incorrectly wired but the obd plug worked fine on the 206) one but it's a gamble really. I've seen quite a few struggle and give up so really worth waiting for Easy to restock if you can (especially as they're so close by for any support you need. Plus they'd likely have stock by the time one arrived from China.)

Re: Transponder codeing
I’m not sure which model you have, (pop your VIN up here if you haven’t elsewhere), but you may have a model with Fiat influences including some ECUs that may need the S1279 module to communicate.
This is true for many of the PSA commercial vehicles as they contain some Ford / Fiat technology.
