HDi fuel shut-off?

Post by milleplod »

My '09 2.0HDi has an annoying little issue! It drives very nicely....when on the throttle. If I'm on the over-run, for example when going downhill, there's an annoying 'stuttering' that feels as if the fuel is being cut off, almost like a misfire...its particularly bad if I touch the throttle very lightly.....its fine if I press the accelerator harder, which I tend not to when going downhill!

Is there any sort of valve/sensor somewhere that might be misbehaving? :?

The HDi engine cuts the fuel off on the over-run anyway. If you have a fuel consumption readout then you can see this as a reading of 999.9mpg - the closest it can get to no fuel being used.

You need to get the car on a Lexia - but you already knew that I'm sure.

Yes, I'll have to have a run up to Savoy Garage to see Malcolm re Lexia. I wondered if anyone had ever noticed anything similar - its almost as if the fuel's not being shut off on the over-run.
