I think it's a spelling mistake. I think he meant to put schooner as that's a much smaller vessel :-D

Typo but I like the schooner joke.

At least if I did buy a galleon of oil it would last a little while.

Well bought a "galleon" of diesel oil and new filter today and changed both.

After correctly tightening filter top no leak must now clean engine under-tray of oil.
