Xantia Hight

Post by Machra »

I think my Xantia is running slightly high at the front end. I checked the Haynes manual for hight checking but find their check very complicated. Could anyone tell me what hight their car is at when ticking over on flat ground. Please measure from floor to front and rear cross member.

There's a very easy way of checking XM's and I don't see why it should'nt apply to Xantias as well.
Lower the car to the lowest ride hight (service position)with engine running. Measure hight at a siutable place (e.g. frpm ground to highest point in front and rear wheel arch.
Raise car to highest postion with engine running. Repeat measurement. Take the mean of the first and second measurements.
Lower car to normal ride high. Hight should as mean.
This appears to work to within a few millimeters on XM's, which is weel within Citroëns tolerances.'
