Re: c5 cruise control retro fit
That is what I have. Once I found it had the combined switch the rest was easy.

Yours is probably the same as James' car and already has a dual switch.
Probably.

Re: c5 cruise control retro fit
If your RP number is before 9611 then you need the additional switch, if it's after that then you don't.
Re: c5 cruise control retro fit
Of course, I just meant it wouldn’t waste the Lexia helpers time if all the parts were not fitted yet as it can still be programmed anyway.

There will be a label in the driver door area, with (amongst other things) tyre pressures. There will be a seven digit number, which will be made up of five numbers and two letters. This is the RPO number.
There is a decoder, that will show you when the car started production, and at which factory. Here is the link, if you are interested;

Re: c5 cruise control retro fit
ha i have just found the number and it is 9732 which means the c5 was manufactured on the 2nd of july 2003 so this means that possibly there will be a secondary switch already installed and the cruise control option already switched on. Happy days. Just waiting for the stalk to arrive now

Re: c5 cruise control retro fit
I would STILL check the brake pedal for that switch (PSA are not logical about parts; it is possible that a factory ran out of certain parts and used older (but still usable) components). If you go to the passenger foot-well you will find that there is an area of carpet that can be moved (you will need to remove a couple of securing screws). Then the pedal mechanism will become visible. You can also (if needed) get access to the pollen filter, which needs to be replaced at regular intervals.

Just because the dual function switch is fitted doesn't mean the car will be pre programmed for cruise control. It just means you don't need to fit an extra switch.

Re: c5 cruise control retro fit
The ECUs 'know' HOW to use Cruise Control, but they also 'know' the Cruise Control stalk is not fitted (as shown in the Driver switch menu saying "Cruise Control Absent" (or something like)). What you need to do is to switch this from "Absent" to "Present" and save this setting. Then you have the ability to use the Cruise Control.

Re: c5 cruise control retro fit
Hi guys, I've fitted the stalk and checked the brake switch situation. The c5 has a white switch with 4 wires coming out of it so I suspect that this is the dual switch as there isn't a secondary hole for separate red switch. I now just need the lexia plugging in and hopefully it will work.

Re: c5 cruise control retro fit
Yes, that is the second wiring option. All you need now is to let the car know she has the cruise control stalk fitted and tested, and then you are good to go.
I only use my CC when I am travelling along a motorway and there are speed monitored road works.

I find that I use CC whenever and wherever I can. I only need a stretch a couple of hundred yards long to find it worthwhile.Hell Razor5543 wrote: ↑28 Jan 2018, 18:09I only use my CC when I am travelling along a motorway and there are speed monitored road works.

I had a xsara before the c5 and it had cruise control i too used to use itnas much as i could and loved it. I have found that since i got the c5 i have been none intentionally speeding and i thi k it is because its a big quiet car, and I don't realise the speed is creeping up. I think on the c5 it is neccessary.

Re: c5 cruise control retro fit
Hi guys id just like to thank everybody who has contributed towards helping me to fit cruise control to my beloved c5. It is now finally done and the cruise control working. It work in 4th and 5th gears only, but it does work all the way down to 30 mph on a 2litre hdi in fourth. Also i now have a citroen garage i can go to in the fylde which i will be using when i need cambelt, wheel bearings doing.
