I would imagine their purpose is to steer air into brakes or tyres, but those holes in the bumper are for that.

Here's a photo of my car. Circled area, where headlamp, fender and bumper meet. It's got a 2-3 mm gap there. Plastic pin is on the bumper and it assures that bumper stays in line.
I've went through a trouble of taking the whole front of the car down and refitting it, but it stayed the same. Only thing I did manage to do is break one headlamp mount :evil:

Well as I said neither of my previous cars had the triangular bits and I have no idea what they are meant to do!

I'd say a gap of 2-3 mm between headlamp and the wing is normal.
