Advice on Citroen Nemo Brake Pad Swap?

Post by vonsworld »

Hello

I'm planning to change the brake pads next week on my Citroen Nemo, have done this job many times before with previous cars, but not yet with a Citroen. Please could someone offer me some quick advice :)

To make space for the new pads, do the cylinders on the front pads push back in or wind in? I've heard wind-in cylinders mentioned on forums, but does that just apply to the rear brakes? I'd like to avoid buying a tool if possible, since I don't do this job very often.

Does anyone know if there is a brake sensor wire on one or both sides? There are two types of pad specified for this car in the catologue, they are identical except one type has one wire and the other has two. I don't suppose it matter too much really!

Thanks for you help :)

In case you don't get any answers that are more helpful, the Nemo is a rebadged Fiat so may not conform to other Citroen procedures.
I work with someone who owns a Nemo and will ask him if he has any advice in the morning.

Very simple to change on Nemo's, just like most cars in the front. You only need to push in the caliper pistons. The rear brakes are drums.
Just remember to grease the slide pins with silicone grease or similar.
I have various repair handbooks and wiring diagrams for C5 mk1, Xantia, XM, Berlingo and C3 mk1.
I have Lexia/Diagbox (Sweden) and Servicebox/sedre

I have asked at work and he hasn't had the car long and has not needed to do any work on the brakes.
However, the person he bought it of gave him a fairly comprehensive manual which he is bringing to work tomorrow.
I can scan it and email the scans to you if you wish.

Caught him today and he has searched but been unable to find the manual mentioned above.

It might also be worthwhile looking on the Yahoo Citroen forum. A bit of a mess but you may be lucky.
