C5x7 Zero Pass @ the MoT
Record stands......I still have a 100% "No Advisory" record at the MoT garage for any car in the last 5 years taken there.....always a nervous time however

Re: C5x7 pass
I don't want to nit-pick but what do you mean by zero pass? I read that as meaning it didn't pass and then thought that maybe you mean the opposite?

Re: C5x7 pass
Alasdair, if you were to start working in the garages of ANY main dealer (of any make of car) it is likely that the other mechanics would struggle to come up to your standards (or look for a job elsewhere). Have you tried applying for a job with any of the Formula 1 racing teams? I sure you would fit in well with them.

Re: C5x7 pass
LOL....made me chuckle .....I get a LOT of help from people like Jim and a friend up the road. All I would be good for is pointing out things that do not look right, I suspect I would loose them a lot on money

All good teams need (and employ) somebody who can spot when something is subtly wrong. The bit that takes real time (and money) is training them how to make it RIGHT!

An that is not me.....I would have to put Jim and James in my suitcase and take them along with me
I have met a lot of service managers who just do not care.....maybe "I care" is beaten out of them on a daily basis..

I think you'll find 'caring' is quite high up on the list of any service managers requirements..... just below - Profit, Making it an easy job, Going home on time, Is it tea break yet ? What bits do we have in stock that I need to get rid of ? Are we hitting this month's targets ? Did I put the bins out this morning ? Etc etc.....
Sadly no longer a C5 owner

Re: C5x7 pass
thanks Jim....
Nice and interesting to see the C5x7 on the "Shaker bed" during the test........it is very interesting to watch the multi-link rear suspension work.....so many bits of metal/bolts/rubber all moving together

And lots of scope for one of those bits of rubber and metal to give rise to a fail...
I don't think I could bear to watch such a machine on one of my cars... In fact I can't bear to watch at all which is why I leave them with the garage and go home until they call me...
I have to go through the stress of an MOT soon as I want to have a new MOT on the Activa in case i need it in a hurry should my little Pug fall over...
Dreading it to be honest... The stress of it almost kills me every time

C5X7....MoT additional info
MoT info (shows when they log-on with your car details) now has an advisory screen regarding the LDS cap removal when jacking the car....

Now THAT is very telling! What happens if said cap is underneath an OEM engine bay cover, I wonder?

Re: C5x7 pass
The problem does not affect the Mk1/2 cars...HA3+ only, so C5x7/C6 only
