As Anders said, anti-sink sphere is in fact accumulator for rear brake circuit and has, so we think, no role in closing of A/S valves.
As another fact, I think that designers were clever here and mounted an orifice somewhere between rear suspension and A/S sphere (or maybe A/S valves have restricted openings). In that case, when A/S valve opens, HP pump has enough capacity to start filling A/S sphere and still keeping the pressure in the rear suspension, preventing it from dropping.
Also, I think that even with doser valve in reasonable condition, there is no much pressure left in A/S sphere in the morning. Once I did release all the pressure in both accumulator and A/S sphere by pressing brake pedal until it stopped hissing (it took several minutes - had to press it more than 200 times with moderate force). When I switched the engine on, it took quite a time until STOP extinguished, then front of the car levels, and shortly after, rear also, without any sinking before that.
So, I wouldn't blame doser valve here. There must be something else:
a) accumulator sphere is flat, A/S valves closes before the cat levels upon exiting the car, so it sinks upon starting the engine
b) H/C only partially opens when you enter the car, so LHM flow is too small to keep the pressure in rear suspension while refilling the A/S sphere. Could be caused by incorrect setting of the linkage. Maybe someone tried to set the height by adjusting manual height control instead by rotating clamp on the anti-roll bar? Is rear of the car rising with 'normal speed' (although slower than front) if you set height lever to highest?
c) HP pump has low capacity, but this isn't likely if front of the car is rising normally
d) out of ideas ...

I think if anything it is 'C' out of your answers, because when I adjusted ride height yesterday by the look of it they hadn't even tried to set up the height on the clamp, and the h/c seems to have little effect I sat in the boot for over a minute today and it didn't rise, I just get the feeling that they didn't know a thing about cit hydrolics.
It is just like the H/c isn't moving enough it will rise eventually or when I drive down the road that seems to make it act normal and the up and down lever is very stiff to operate (it takes two hands to lift and one hand to move back) As I said the front is perfect and that is how I imagine the back SHOULD be, but its all very sluggish and slow, any ideas how I set it up from scratch.
Just had a look and there is about an inch of rod going towards the back of the car past the clamp......

Before blaming the pump, it would be a good idea to check the manual height regulation. There are excellent pictures of linkage here:
http://www.amt23.hotmail.ru/correct.htm
Height corrector valve is connected to two levers. First one, with vertical axis (the left one on the drawing), is connected to clamp on roll-bar with small plastic rod. Second one, with horizontal axis, is connected to height lever in the centre console with the long rod with clamp on its end.
When the car is on normal height, second lever (responsible for manual height control) should have some free play in both directions, so that it doesn't interfere with automatic height control, managed by first lever. Otherwise, linkage will not work as it should. If not, loose the clamp, find middle position of the lever by moving it in both directions, than find middle position of the clamp within ends of the spring mounted on 2nd lever, and tighten the clamp.
You can also loose the clamp on the rod for manual control and check if the automatic height correction now work as it should (by sitting on the boot).

Just come back from a citroen specialist in birmingham (modern citroen services) after talking to them on the phone realised it would not br practical to suss problem without a ramp.......
Alexx full points to you it had been incorrectlly set when the H/c was replaced, going by what they did and what I did at the weekend the problem was..... Height had not been adjusted at all at the plastic cup and ball joint (my original lining up marks proved that) When it wasn't looking right the adjusted the height control lever rod till it looked reasonable, wasn't getting hardly any movement fron H/C lever.
They removed links and set up from scratch and the car drives like a dream now, And the best bit is it took and hour on the ramp and they didn't charge me a penny .....There are good people left in the world after all..............They really know there citroens inside out, HIGHLY Recommended. It would have been impossible for me to do without a ramp (to many springs and adjustable things!!!!)
Thanks again Guys for all your help.[:D][:D][:D][;)]
