Although the C5 doesn't have bulb out warnings, just go for CANBUS in any LEDs you choose - the newer type have built in resistors to prevent the behaviour exhibited by the first gen LEDs - typically rapid flashing. I've replaced all my interior door, pavement lights, front and rear underseat footwell bulbs with the new W5W blade type LEDs and they are great. Sidelights have also been upgraded with these to give a crisp white light more in line with the Xenons; I've replaced the DRLs with LEDs and the reversing lights. I've left the Stop, brake and front and rear fogs as they are for obvious reasons.

If you have the Xenon headlights, the angular lighting is an HP19 bulb - but on the non-Xenon models the angular lights have a normal H7 bulb. So if / when my angular lighting goes, I will be replacing those with LEDs too - but these will definately need resistors - unless by the time these go they have developed some newer LEDs that have enough resistance built in.

They are HP19W - Google this instead
They are quite hard to get hold of outside the dealer because they are not used in many other cars. There are several here, but you may have to remove the bulb from the holder and refit.

I assume these are for your angular lights on a C5 2008 on with the Xenon Headlamps - Non-Xenon headlamps take a Standard H7 for the Angular Lights.

The HP24W are 24 Watts and the HP19 are 19 Watts so I wouldn't. As long as the bulbs are clear and 19W you should be able to carefully extract the bulb from the holder and replace it.

I will very likely be replacing my HP19s with an LED modification, but this will need a set of resistors to work, just have a look here as member XF1REF gas done the upgrade.

They are brighter than previous LED I used - ideal for daytime.

I can't answer about the HP19 size as I have yet to undertake this little beast of a job on mine , but as far as I am aware, everyone I know who has replaced these with LEDs has had to use a set of resistors. The LEDs use a lower power setting, so although the CANBUS LED is OK with the built in resistors for the HP24W on the DRL fitting, the same cannot be said for the HP19 - everyone so far who has replaced these says they will flash - so resistors are the answer.
