egr help pleeeeeease!

Post by richieski »

Hi, i am having major issues trying too diagnose my egr issue.

I have had a new one fitted, same faults are appearing.

The car suffers from hesitation around 1700 rpm .

P1459 P0490

Valve opening too small

@2666 rpm relative position 46%
valve position 9%

@2699 rpm relative position 49%
valve position 9%

I'm confused! what is the actual problem, description says opening too small which makes sense as that would starve the engine of some air. So should it be at 46% and it is actually at 9% ? thing is it works fine above 2k rpm.

Please can someone advise me of my pinnouts so i can test the harness etc.

Berlingo b9 1.6hdi 110 bhp

Thank you

P.S had it in citroen, they charges me £127 to say ii need a new egr, when i told them it had one they said it needed programming which was done . They could not test drive it as one tyre was 1.47mm in 1 spot. They were more interested in trying to sell me new tyres brakes calipers etc. 800 pound bill which i completed all the necessary work for 150.....

Have a look at my airflow, it actually drops from 1000 rpm until it reaches 2000 rpm

Sorry, I can't access wiring diagrams based on Vin numbers.
Are those the exact and full error code messages?
Have you cleared the fault codes first?
Have you tried a BSI reset?
Are you confident the replacement EGR is a good one. the internet tells me there's far too many dodgy ones for sale and most recommend getting a genuine replacement (Valeo I think)?
Does your engine also have separate EGR throttle?
Does your engine have DPF? What is the Soot Loading and when was last regen?
