Hi C5 guys,
Looking for help to fix my MOT rear foglight fail. Symptoms are
Front fog lights - no, dash tell tale - no
Rear foglights - no, dash tell tale - no.
Fronts come on if relay energised, still no tell tale
Lexia don't have option to test front fogs.
Rears work when testing with Lexia, no tell tale.
I have replced the COM200 with new one, needed changing for washer switch problem anyway
I have fitted a second hand BSI, of course it does not start now but after configuring every thing except keys and immo
still exactly the same. I have gone thru the configuration and everything appears to be correct.
I should mention I have never used the fog lights, and probably never will,
but the rear fogs and tell tale are an MOT fail if not working.
Bit of a saga, but that's how it is.
Constructive help appreciated.
Regards to all, Tom.

Have you not removed the instrument panel & checked that the tell tales actually work on the panel? That strikes me as the first thing I would check after replacing a faulty COMM unit...

Re: C5 X7 Tourer MOT foglight fail
Need to get it on Diagbox to see if the BSI / BSM is getting the message from the COMS unit; if the COMS unit is sending it; and if you can turn the lights on from Diagbox. This will at least give some idea where the fault lies. I wonder if this might be a fault with the BSM under the bonnet.
