Hi,
Our Citroen C5 II 5 DOOR ESTATE 1.6 HDi 110 particle emission filter (DV6TED4) Manual gearbox 5,is failing in the regeneration of the FAP.
After clearing all the logs and driving the car for a few Kms, the following errors were logged
EDC16C34_DV6
fault codes present
Preheating relay circuit Control in short circuit to earth or open circuit
2LC - P1350
Preheating relay circuit Relay supplied and Plugs never supplied
2LH - P1351
I replaced the preheating relay and the glow plugs and tested the connection between the relay and the glow plugs, which were fine. I then re-cleared the log and tested again.
The original errors, as above, re-appeared on re-test. Do the errors above imply that there must be a fault in the circuit that actuates the relay rather than the relay itself, seeing as I have replaced the relay?
I would be really grateful for some guidance on this issue, as I'm currently stumped as what to try next.
Thanks in anticipation.
Cheers Noel

This isn't my expertise at all but your first fault code seems to say the relay you replaced isn't getting power. So I would assume the answer to your question is yes.

If it helps avoid wasted time, my car (05 C5restyle Estate 1.6hdi) also has the permanent fault "Preheating relay circuit Relay supplied and Plugs never supplied" but it doesn't cause regens to fail.

Hi,
Thanks Elma and MikeT for your responses.
It was my understanding that the glowplugs were activated during a regen and as these were the first errors to appear in the log these were the likely cause, but based on your responses it must be something else. The average distance over the last 5 regens was 55km but it is now creeping up as the last regen was more than 400km ago and most running is on the open road. The logs also show Additive system fault - Additive addition impossible. Is this more likely to be the cause and if so what triggers this message?
Cheers Noel

"Additive system fault - additive addition impossible" is also one I see on my lexia all the time. Again, it doesn't inhibit regens for me.

Hi,
Thanks Elma and MikeT.
Still lots of errors in the log but since replacing the glowplug relay and the glowplugs the regens are happening and no more limp mode.
I appreciate your help.

Good to read! I guess you'll be up for selling it now
