I do not understand what you mean by an F4 fault code?
Are you saying the outside temperature display shows 'F4' rather than a valid temperature?
51 degrees seems to be very warm!

Gosh, that's warm!
In that case it's not a fault code. It is most likely to be a faulty temperature display module or a faulty temperature sensor... The sensor is mounted in one of the door mirrors and can be seen as a little bump underneath it. It may even be a bad connection on the sensor although bad connections usually case two bars (--) to be shown on the display
How often does it happen?
If only occasionally, I'd not worry about it; it is nothing serious...
