Re: Which service manual do you recommend...?
If I was going to translate it for Chris, I would probably do the translation in sections and then merge it together with the software I have already.

Re: Which service manual do you recommend...?
Have just finished printing out the document, in 54 separate sections. Bit of a chore, but done.
Thanks for the suggestions about creating a single PDF etc., good idea.
What I have noticed while printing was just how much of this manual, despite being offered as a Series 2 (1974->) XM 2.5TD, is actually Series 1, and in some parts petrol. That's a bit shoddy, especially as they ask you to carefully choose your year and model from a long list.
However, some of the diagrams and photos are worth having, and I can cope with the French (most of the time). If it were better tailored to 2.5 and S2, I would take you up on your kind translation offer, Marc.

Re: Which service manual do you recommend...?
Can anyone let me know if the manual mentioned above touch on the diagnosing the AM6 transmission, such as the valve body / solenoids, torque converter, etc? Thanks.

Re: Which service manual do you recommend...?
Here's the link to your C5 - if you look in the notes section it gives a little more detail - these are good for general maintenance and ow to strip down certain areas and undertake repairs - but I suspect it will not go too deep into the inner workings of the gearbox - but it won't hurt to email them and ask.

The good thing is that they have a full money back guarantee if you are not satisfied - so there is nothing to loose!
