What's behind a ZX Headlight
I'm miles from anywhere and have just started to restore a neglected ZX. The headlights seemed wonky so they are amongst the first things stripped off. It seems they should have 3 fixing points.
On each side 2 are OK but both the 'connectors' nearest the grill seem damaged - see photos.
Can anyone please tell me, or better yet show me, what these should really consist of - and is it's possible to get replacements?
The correct page from Citroen service would also be a great help. I'm afraid I can't access their information as I'm in the far North of Thailand.

Re: What's behind a ZX Headlight
Yes, those are the levelling adjusters from what I recall and were damaged on our ZX as well. Sadly I'm not sure what other vehicles may have suitable replacements or if they're available new at all because we basically glued the remains together and did without load compensation/levelling adjustment.
Would be nice to see photos of / a blog started on the actual car too.

That looks like a plastic worm and cog adjustment, which has split.

Re: What's behind a ZX Headlight
Thanks for these replies, which have reached me overnight.
I'm not really a blogger, but here are a few photos, couple show the car as I first saw it, it then had engine and transmission work done and the lpg tank moved from the 'boot' to the spare wheel location.
First photo shows the initial strip down now it's moved to the body/paint shop. The Rochdale, sadly, remains in the UK - but is still going strong. All others are good fortunately.
Using the info from the parts list I have tracked down a supplier. I'll check it out with my mechanic and let you know how we get on.

Re: What's behind a ZX Headlight
Whether a blogger or not, it's just nice to see a much undervalued and unloved old Citroen being given the care and attention it deserves. They are great little cars when in good condition especially with either the 1.9TD or 2.0i engines. I guess from the LPG kit this is a petrol one? All the rarer considering most survivors tend to be diesels:)

Well I just had a peek at a Rochdale Olympic picture and was shocked. I thought it was a glassfibre three wheeler. Imagine my surprise to be looking at a mini E type!

Re: What's behind a ZX Headlight
I sourced a complete set of headlight adjusters for both left & right sides from China, where I learned that sales of the Kufang far outweighed those from Citroen and production continued for years after it ceased in Europe.
Those Chinese know a good thing when they see one!
They are fine quality and a third of the UK price - now my lights line up correctly!
A Milestone on the road to resurrection.

I thought the PSA-Dongfeng re-working of the ZX into the C-Elysee worked rather well...

Re: What's behind a ZX Headlight
The first pass from Dongfeng was very much as the original, plus that striking gold colour. See pics.
We have now got to the first coat in the re-finish which gives me a moment to show the Chinese headlight adjusters fitted. Easy job and now all the front end aligns correctly!

Re: What's behind a ZX Headlight
That looks both very smart and very desirable... I love the gold paint
Of the two I much prefer the first pass...

Re: What's behind a ZX Headlight
Coming along! Looks like some nice tidy body panels there.
I enjoyed my ZX immensely, despite its modest spec.
Hope your renovation goes well; it's a car you can get quite attached to.
