Injector out and a bit of telephone extension cable fed in on top of the piston.
Compressing the spring was a problem, had to knock up a jig, nothing to lever against and all at arms full stretched, out of sight too.........but it's done.

Nothing like working blind and at arm's length to get the old sweat glands pumping (not to mention the swear glands!)

So what timing kit did you put on this time Gibbo? It's all a lucky dip I reckon.

A Schaeffler Automotive tensioner and idler kit labelled as INA and a Gates belt.

I don't think the decent named brands are "lucky dip" at all, in fact it's quite rare for a good kit to fail early (the warranty claims & bad rep would soon send the company under methinks). Personally I've stuck with Gates or Dayco belts & INA branded spinny-roundy bits and never ever had an issue with them.

I agree with that. There will always be the odd exception but I've not come across any of the above failing without an external cause in my own experience.
