CX GTI Turbo coils

Post by Bilkob »

Morning all,

Ok, I've now got some original coils and leads, so I'm hoping that once fitted they may get rid of my car's slightly 'woofly ' low speed running...
Couple of questions
Can someone post/point me in the direction of a diagram or picture of which coil fires which lead/cylinder?
Also, the aftermarket coil pack I have on at the mo has been scotchlocked (nice!) Into the loom but the 2 original 3 way plugs are also still there
I'm guessing that once I have the correct lead to the correct coil/plug, and I've disconnected all the old stuff, it's only possible to get the 3 pin plugs one of two ways, ie- spluttering and banging or running cleanly?!
Capich??

Should be pretty simple to get right I think, connect one coil to cylinders 1 & 4 and the other to 2 & 3 then swap the connector plugs over if it doesn't run. (I am prepared to be shot down in flames on this, but I think its that simple)

Bingo! Plugged in, got it right first time, started instantly, DEFFO idles better, is not missing, so result!
It's still jerky off closed throttle, so my focus is now thrott,e mechanism, and air flow meter.
Anyhoo, progress
