Citroen AX S1 Ball joints woes

Post by jsp »

Hi, my brake caliper bolt stripped and I bought a 15mm hub to replace. Somehow this is still to big for my ball joint.

Anyone knows what year an AX uses 15mm ball joints? I have seen 14mm and 16mm but, never 15mm....

If it's anything like our old ZX, the hub/balljoint sizes are more a guide than a rule and they just seem to fit whatever is in the parts bin at the time. (our 1.9TD with PAS had 14mm balljoints, supposedly only used on 1.4 non-PAS I think. Spec for the TD was 16mm).

That said, I've not come across 15mm joints either in my experience they've either been 14 or 16 :/
