Would work like original.
The problem is finding the correct parts - they are quite hard to find and quite expensive - there are 2 types of parking ECU - the front and rear unit or rear only, plus the audio sending unit and then the sensors (4 or 8) - the cost of the ECU alone is about £180 from Citroen, and I've yet to find the correct CAN CAN unit anywhere second hand - there are a few in Europe, but they are more expensive than new from Citroen! Plus the sensors are about £27 each second hand, and then you'll need to make sure the wiring loom is there, plus configuring it. It is do-able, but the cost is sometimes prohibitive. A decent aftermarket, fitted solution that I linked to for about £130 ish for a visual and audio system with colour coded flush sensors isn't bad.

It took Mr HellRazor and I about 45 mins to fit the £11.50 sensors I linked to, including drilling the holes and wiring them up - and getting the wires through into the boot via the number plate light grommet and siting the control unit in a dry, safe place in the Meriva. Having owned a C8, I think it would take a similar amount of time. £130 sounds very expensive!

Just make sure you select the correct earth, as Mr CitroJim had to do a little diagnosis on my wiring
