Saxo suspension struts on Citroen c15 van?
Hi, like it says in the subject heading really. I have a c15, I have a Saxo. Will the front suapension bits swap over? Thanks!

Re: Saxo suspension struts on Citroen c15 van?
The mounting points will likely be similar, but i'm sure the C15/Visa struts are a strut and hub, whereas the saxo ones are a complete upright, so may not be suitable (given the different TRE mountings and possibly balljoint)
i'll do some digging though
edit: not possible i'm afraid. up until the end of 1987 the balljoint mounting faces down, after that its more traditional (from the bottom).
however, as suspected the track rod end fits near the spring cup on a saxo, whereas the c15 has it on the lower hub, so you'll have to do a lot of prepwork to fit them. that and the LBJ hole on the saxo is likely smaller, a c15 due to being a commercial vehicle will likely have a fairly chunky one (despite being based on a visa)
also the driveshafts will most likely not fit. Saxo's used two different types of inner hub/bearing fitments (tapered and flat) and its quite common for people to be supplied the wrong ones and ruin bearings in less than a few hundred miles.

Tried 205 stuff? I'm sure it's closer in design!

Re: Saxo suspension struts on Citroen c15 van?
Certainly the C15 & 205 front ends are very closely related (my recent TCA came in a box marked Peugeot & that might explain why the pads come with low pad warning light leads) but whether it extends to the struts/hubs I'm not so sure. It's something I'd like to know, after the trouble I had finding a hub carrier for mine, & already had it mind if there's a chance at the Great Western Classic Car Show on Saturday to have a peer under any 205, to try to spot the similarities. )f course the spring & shock rates are likely to be different but that's only likely to be relevant for a C15 that's still working for a living.
