hi was looking at a 1,6 hdi berlingo 2008 with 10000 miles on clock ,could anyone tell me what i should be looking for on van engine wise before i decide to buy .thank you billmj10

On a 2008 just make sure the injectors are not leaking black tar around the injector body, if they are best to walk away. Normal service history stuff. But these engines go and go there are guys on the Berlingo forum with 400k on them and they are still going strong with only servicing.

Cam belt is 10 years or 120k

I have a 2008 myself and they are a great van generally 50mpg around the streets, 55mpg on a run if you take it easy or 42mpg if you put your foot down.

thanks for that Bick, have been reading a lot about turbo failing on this model and had me wondering.

Personally I would give that engine a miss or else get it into a garage and get the turbo oil feed filter removed. And even have the sump and strainer removed and cleaned.
