Yep got that, has to be your choice though I'd still stick to the original Total stuff for my car.

Re: C5 serious suspension fault
Me as well, at the price of LDS I see no reason to look beyond the use anything other that that (or the DA)

^^^ Plus 1 for that. Nothing written on the back would convince me to use it. It covers just too many specifications for my liking.

Re: C5 serious suspension fault
well - it fixed the suspension for its mot , and once passed it will have a flush and new lovely LDS (its black in there!)
but it failed on rear brakes little or no effort and front parking brake little or no effort
bugger

Re: C5 serious suspension fault
Did they give you any idea of what might be wrong with the brakes? My first thought is that the discs are rusted and have too little contact area. A quick visual inspection would quickly prove or disprove that conjecture.

Re: C5 serious suspension fault
I was watching the meter - very little braking force when he pushed them.
and both front and rear disks look rusty
I have a feeling , since I was laid up December 2015 , the brakes might be seizing

Re: C5 serious suspension fault
Again, MOT man fails to understand the rear brakes of a Citroen....dump a load of weight in the back next time to load the rear. 6 bags of sand or some concrete slabs next time.
That or the classic caliper angle/corrosion. Inspect the pads (look) are they worn at an angle ?

Re: C5 serious suspension fault
actually I think he knows them quite well , as he removed the LDS cap before I even mentioned it....
parking brake worked on nearside , just not offside.
I *think* I`ll take the wheels off tomorrow and check , but when I had the front NS tyre done (for its ticket) , the caliper looked rusty , as if it had been stood for a while.

Re: C5 serious suspension fault
I freed off my parking brake by wiggling the pivot and judicious use of plus gas. It was one side as well. I hope your rear brakes and discs are not like mine were. PO had filed the heads of caliper bolts to stop wheel snagging. Seized bolts...............with no heads

Re: C5 serious suspension fault
rear calliper bolts - liberal use of penetrating oil and as they turn they are cracking.... not breaking but a crack as they go. very slowly!

Re: C5 serious suspension fault
Sounds normal to me......the threads will be dry. I will often do a half turn back to help clear the threads on such bolts when they are very dry.
