Citroen Nemo ABS Light On

Post by Steveant »

Citroen Nemo n/s abs rear abs fault.
Overloaded car too much weight may have been coincidence or brick may have caught wires under seat but light came on.
Not sure route wire take ?
changed rear wheel sensor no change.
swapped hub to see if fault moved to opersite sides. IE. Cracked pick up ring.
Wanted to test wiring front to rear anyone know routing ?
Any other test?
Weight sensor in system?
Lost
Any help appreciated
Thanks in advance

Hi i'll have a go as this thread seems a bit slow.

You need a wiring schematic and i know one or two of the guys on here seem to have access to data from Citroen so it may still come give it a bit more time.

Have you go underneath and had a good look see at the wiring?

Have you tried resetting the ABS since fitting a new sensor - i know it should self reset but far from all do this and it may need resetting with a diag tool.

Have you damaged the load sensing valve spring in anyway?

I might be able to help with a wiring diagram, I'll need your VIN for that. Just a note in case you're not already aware, the NEMO requires the S1279 add-on module if using Lexia / Diagbox to properly diagnose. Post or PM me your VIN and I'll email the diag off to you.

s1279 is a little black box used in combination with the Lexia.

If it has no load sensing valve it will have a pressure reducing valve somewhere fitted before the brake lines split to the rears, they can sometimes look like a coupler. I cannot see how it would cause your problem though.

Probably not - modern cars rely on the ABS rather than a load valve / pressure sensing valve on the rear. You should proceed with extreme caution in a modern car with the ABS light on - the rear may try and come round to meet you under braking!!

The last course i went on informed me that ABS was still designed to fail safe in accordance with European CU regs. Maybe i was informed incorrectly.

I hate it when that happens.

In all seriousness though you need a wiring diagram to check the wiring, when you get your VIN up it will be far easier to answer your questions.
Once you have one locate the relevant 2 pins on the ABS block connector and check for continuity at the connector with a multimeter set to Ohms.
I don't know much about modern cars, there may be a procedure to disconnect and reconnect the ABS and I'd advise you find out first.
