Donny Osmond

Post by renagade »

I have a big surprise for my wife at the end of the month, we are going over to Nottingham to see Donny Osmond. This guy was just up and coming when I met my wife 44 years ago and she is mad on him, what a treat we are staying the night in the Nottingham Lodge and driving back to Doncaster on the Sunday.

Sorry but Donny Osmond just doesn't float my boat, now if it was Stevie Nicks...

Excellent :D I still remember how, when he first hit the charts in the early 70s how all the girls were absolutely devoted to him... It was a big joke amongst us boys at the time but it's wonderful to see at least one devoted fan has stayed true to him all these years...

Do enjoy!

He was rubbish then &, unlike good wine, has not improved with keeping.

Then again, I wouldn't expect others to share my musical tastes (in fact some might query the use of either word in that context).

Talking of floating boats, hearing Proud Mary's never been the same since hearing John Fogerty perform it while sitting (me, not him) on the bank of the Mississippi.

I do have quite broad tastes from classical, 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond, but have to draw the line at rap.... I mean for one I can't understand a word of what they're saying, but even when you can - every other word is a profanity! But hey, if it means putting on a hoody, a baggy tracksuit, a baseball cap, shades and some bling from Argos to make millions, hell, there's hope for anyone....

I don't know.... "♪♫ From the M to the A to R to the C it's Honey Marc ♫♪" has a certain ring, time to give Simon Cowell a call....

Saw John Lees' BJH at the beginning of November in New Brighton when they did a short tour. Excellent evening of entertainment.

Apparently John still lives in the North West up on Saddleworth Moor somewhere. And I was interested to find out that he holds an amateur radio licence.

It's good to know at least a part of BJH is still going strong and giving good entertainment :D Must look out for their more recent albums..

Not sure, I may have done at the time.

I've just had a quick search now and failed so maybe not.

I'm more Emerson, Lake & Palmer from that era. 2016 not a good year as only Carl Palmer is left.

I am a relative young'un here ;) but another vote for Stevie ! I wasn't sure about her at first, but these days I appreciate her a lot more then when I was 18 ..then again, Fleetwood Mac have been a fave for years, including especially Peter Green's ..

I don't think you need to tell us Paul, you have just proved it beyond doubt ;) Excellent work!

Have either of you seen the tribute band Rumours of Fleetwood Mac? Apart from the fact that they were originally (very) local to me they do an extremely impressive set including a portion dedicated to the Peter Green era - a favourite of mine as well.

They also sometimes appear with ex-FM (87 - 91) guitarist Rick Vito which is incredible. Rick's playing impressed me so much that when he came over for a mini tour I went to see that as well.
