Kawish CR508 Pressure Tester - Simulator

Post by xsaras4ever »

Hello to all, does anyone have any experience of the Kawish CR508.

As we see it, in older engines if you take everything apart and put it back together you can bleed up as far as the injectors and the pump will do the last bit when you close up the injector pipes.

But in the common rail systems its difficult to bleed and the injectors will never open unless the pressure in the rail is correct.
If you simulate the pressure them the ECU will open the injectors at the right time and air will get pushed through the injectors by the pump until eventually the diesel arrives at the injectors.

Any comments ?

We have a non-starting megane and a non-starting Xsara hdi and on CLIP and LEXIA respectively the rail pressure is showing too low. Both cars have had their injection systems and fuel tanks taken apart and we have the dilema of whether the rail pressure is genuinely low or the sensors are playing "silly-buggers" with us.

In your situation I'd be sorely tempted to use something (resistor with correct value, perhaps?) to fool the ECU into allowing the injectors to be pulsed, at least after a while of cranking with the ECU "thinking" the pressure is correct you'll have a better idea of whether it really is just airlocked or not.

Seems a bit much for both cars to have pump/pressure regulator issues after their injectors running dry so I'd be fairly hopeful that stimulating the injectors into allowing any air to pass might provide the answer.

Cant say I've ever needed any kit like that to get a CR diesel going after the system has been empty.
Can you coax it with a bit of easy start ?
Normally unplugging FP sensor will put the ECU to a default value of around 400 bar which should allow the injectors to operate.

I believe the OP has tried a shot of Ether on the HDi engine with no joy, that could be useful though if unplugging the sensor does as you suggest.

Hello to all.

Looking closely at the connections on the CR508, it appears that it is not correct for our 1.4HDI .
