What do you mean was the wrong one? Is there more than one type of Lucas pump for the TD12?

There's the Lucas EPIC and there's the Lucas Rotodiesel.

Hello again,
The pump is mechanical the rotodiesel one. Epic ones I can fin easily and usually about £50 - 70 delivered. The rotodiesel pump i was supplied had last three digits of the dpcr number scratched pump fitted and twiddled it would not reach full revs and was smoky. Was told by Diesel specialist that the pump was wrong even though both pumps looked very like each other externally. The original pump wore out the spindle bearing and leaked out of the front but was not rumbly.
Do anyone know of any one with a rotodiesel pump to sell? I am desperate as I want to get the car running again.
Cheers
for help

My understanding is that diesel injection pumps are decent bits of engineering and are therefore serviceable. If your pumps look identical then it may well be that the front bearings can be swoppped over or something to repair your first pump.
A search of this site may produce something and I'm sure someone here will have experience of this problem.
