2017 Citroen C6 Revealed

Post by demag »

It's on YouTube lads and all I can say is what a bloody mess! It looks like a copy of the Dacia Logan only bigger.
Maybe it's just me but after the panache and flair of the original C6 Citroen have produced a boring saloon.
I don't know any of the details because it's in Chinese and it was revealed at the Beijing show but it's the sort of car you'd walk past without a second glance.
Or maybe look back and think, "Blimey that's ugly!"

Bx 1.6 TGS Auto 50k A rare beast by all accounts. A bit tired but getting better by the day. Gone.
'96 XM 2.5TD VSX.......Sadly sold. What an idiot! I should have held on to that.

What a heap. Brash, and "without class". Bloated, in-your-face, unoriginal, overdone.
Once upon a time, Citroen used to show the world something fresh, something better.
To look at, this isn't either of those.
Take it away, please.

That is not a Citroen! It is a BMW 7 series reworked and with Citroen badges added! :puke:

Doesn't look much different from the latest C5s to be honest

https://www.netcarshow.com/citroen/2017-c6/

And, lets face it, the C6 was a massive sales success wasn't it? Perhaps a return to something slightly more conventional might help Citroen..

No need to panic China only. Non Hydraulic and basically a Cactus in the front. Next...

It is a hybrid of the X7 shell and the cactus interior trim. Utterly awful IMO, they should of stuck with the Numero 9. Even worse is the CXPERIENCE concept with a huge canary yellow interior that looks like something out of IKEA crossed with a floatation chamber. Gross.

How odd

Front looks like a strangely distorted Passat, rear looks like the very last SAAB 9-5 which came out just as they were going broke, and inside looks like the Lincoln Town Car I rented in Denver almost 30 years ago. Maybe the design team did 2 cars to present to the bosses, a proper one and a joke one so the bosses would make the right choice. But it was a Friday after lunch and the bosses were well-wined so chose the joke one .....

The you tube video I saw seemed to have a few people leaning on the boot lid on the display stand - ready to push start? Leg room in the back makes it a Skoda Superb competitor, but I wonder who will buy it unless it has some stunning suspension or electronics tricks up it sleeve. A fully featured rear armrest is not likely to attract many owner-drivers, and a doubt Citroen sell a lot to people who have chauffeurs. Depreciation? If you want to sell one second hand talk fast because the value will be dropping by the minute.

Or maybe I'm being unkind and it will be a fine and sophisticated vehicle with much to commend it. Who knows.

Only being made for the Chinese market. No fancy hydraulic suspension, that is well and truly over when the LHD production of the C5 ends.

Don't be too sure. The C-Elysee was created in China, and now sells a good few here (the Spanish do like booted cars).
If you don't know it, take a look - especially at the hideous back end. The Chinese ZX remake was positively lovely in comparison. :?

They've probably had a few of our far eastern friends score out a couple of lines here and there in the old C5 moulds and melted them a bit!

Where does the fuel go in?
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.
