My '09 Exclusive has developed a light knock/rattle from, I assume, the front suspension. If I was in an 'ordinary' car, I'd say it was a drop link bush - is it likely to be the same thing on my C5, or should I be looking elsewhere? If anyone can direct me to a diagram of the front suspension setup, I'd be very grateful!

It could be a drop link, but the lower swivel bearings fail for fun.... https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... hp?t=50744

Knock/Rattle wheels dead ahead = Drop Link most likely
Knock/CLICK on full lock/low speed = Lower joint most likely
Pick a knock pick a joint, other ball joints are available for this joke

Re: C5 Exclusive suspension knock.
Thanks for the replies chaps. It's at its most obvious/annoying over rough surfaces, wheels straight, so it looks like drop links. Are all C5 ones the same? Any recommendations as to where to get them....ECP, local factor?

I can't remember the name of the company off the top of my head, but there's a franchised Citroen dealer based in the north who'll deliver (post) genuine ones for £30 a side for the X7. They sell via eBay but will deal over the phone. Cheaper alternatives are undoubtedly available, but I don't think that's too bad a price for genuine ones delivered.

Re: C5 Exclusive suspension knock.
Thanks chaps! Just been round to a mate's place and put the car up on his ramp - definitely the nearside drop link rattling away. Picked up a pair of Delphi ones locally (reasonable brand I believe?) for £24....plus a decent bottle of Malbec for my mate to fit them!

Re: C5 Exclusive suspension knock.
I've just checked, and the lot I bought my drop links from were SG Petch in Darlington, so there's at least 2 dealers out there willing to ignore PSAs random number pricing generator
Drop links are one of the items that are definitely worth getting a decent and/or known brand. Cheaper ones can fail if you so much as look at them wrong
