help needed by someone with lexia close to swindon but will travel

Post by pauls0701 »

looking for someone that can help me, im trying to activate the aux on our C4GP and its doing my head in, i have diagbox and have tried everything but just cant seem to get it to work. for some reason when going in to lexia on my model car im missing most of the ecus. is there anyone that is some where near swindon but im willing to travel that would plug their system in and see if they have any better luck? will pay any going rates. getting desperate now as the mrs is getting on at me daily about not being able to plug her phone in to it.

Welcome to the Forum.

Can you post up your VIN so we can see the exact Head Unit you have and the Specs. This will help us eliminate some issues. I suspect your Lexia hardware may need a firmware update or indeed may not have all the chips on board to communicate with newer CAN vehicles.

Do you know the firmware version of your Lexia (VCI) unit?

Sent you an email Paul.

Have a look at this thread and my post underneath - I'm suspecting your interface is older.... what car and year did you have it working on previously?

You need to use Diagbox not Lexia when it asks you to select the software. I find on ours that I get better results if the engine is running - if not it has a tendency to be in eco mode, which limits the no of ECUs it can see. Diagbox v7.02 works on our 08 C4GP.

Got your email Paul and I'm trying to do a comparison on the hardware, but one of the photos is a bit fuzzy. As this was a reflash, it is likely that it won't have all the hardware to work with newer vehicles, whether flashed or not. Try what Richard has suggested first, whilst I try and see if there are any missing components.

I've sent you a photo back Paul of a board for comparison - definitely missing 5 optocouplers on at least one of the boards. As I understand it, these are used to allow the data signals through 2 isolated circuits whilst isolating the higher voltages - in the case of an optocoupler, by light.

many thanks Richard, i did try in diagbox as well but still no luck, with Marc's help it appears that my hardware is old and not compatable as its missing bits, im going to bite the bullet and buy a new kit,

many thanks for all the help so far and im sure i will be back soon for more advice, and hopefully in time to come i will be able to help other people.

New lead arrived today. Diagbox 7.58 installed and ready to go. Once little one is in bed I will have a play and see what I can do. Hopefully all will work and once I have got used to using lexia I will be able to help any forum members around the Swindon area should they need plugging in.

OK so had no success with the new lead even after a 2 hour session on team viewer with Jim. Just couldn't get the new lead to communicate with the car. Old lead will communicate but only with limited success. I have now given up on trying to do this and the Mrs will just have to put up with the radio. Lol.
