BX Front Strut

Post by philhoward »

Just been playing about with the BX, and whilst trying to remove the o/s front brake disc, have found what seems to be a lot of "lost movement" on the strut, i.e. there's about 2 inches of free movement and a clunking sound from inside the strut.
Is it knackered (probably), in which case has anyone got one lying around and are they easy to change?

It's normal, if you hear this sound only when the system is not uder pressure - it's a pushrod touching piston on upper side and the strut on the lower side. When the suspension is under pressure, it will keep these items in close contact with the strut, so there shouldn't be any clunking.
