Faults P1435 and P1598 help, C5 diesel

Post by boristhespie »

My diesel C5 136bhp 2006 has been garage. The car now has a couple of faults the garage couldn't get info on them.

P1435, which I have looked for here, Additive fault. Womdering if this is filler cap faul or additice pump.

I have low Eolys tank. Told them to fill it up. Have I made and expensive mistake?

Also another fault P1598.

Can anyone help with the faults.

Reading the search results for these I am now wondering if this could be pouring cash down an empty drain.

When they put the Eolys in did they reset the additive level in the ECU? They would need a Lexia or high-end generic reader.

How many miles has the car done? The DPF could need cleaning or even replacing if it's high mileage.

Do they know what they are doing and have they got the necessary diagnostic kit (Lexia) to reset the additive counter when they have filled it up? Also, it is important that the correct additive is used (well-documented on the Forum). The P1598 is not a PSA code I can identify, which leads me to suspect they don't have a Lexia diagnostic tool, but have used a generic scanner - which may not be able to perform all the functions a Lexia can. More importantly, make sure that they are putting in the correct type of Eolys fluid - as some of these cannot be mixed. If your car has being going into limp home mode, it may be because you are low on additive - but you will still need to ensure it is reset after the operation. If they can't do it, I would take it to a garage with experience of PSA cars and this type of job.

It's a Bosch garage.

The car has never gone into limp mode. Car runs okay with just an occassional intermittent shudder, although hasn't done that for weeks. There was an issue with filler cap re Eolys they said previously.

I assume they know what they are doing as they do many highspec jobs. But will ask.

Car has done 116,000 miles.

P1598 is a manufacturer specific fault code for: S2RE proportional flow solenoid, circuit high input.
Dont ask me what it means, never heard it before in my life.

Did the Bosch garage come back with any further information Boris?

Not that specifically - what Marc and I asked about them resetting the additive level.
