2.2 hdi 8v questions

Post by jgra1 »

chaps, on an hdi injector (a bosch one) there are 3 numbers.. 2 are in the same place/plane - starting 044 and Z and the third is longer and on 3 rows and in a different part of the injector head..

if my first 2 numbers match an injector I have found online, can i assume they are the same or is there more to it :O

I had a quick look at documentation last night and it looked a mine field..

Mine are fitted into an 8V 2.2 and the one i am looking at is from an 8v 2.0

many thanks
John

John, they do seem to be different depending on the engine. Did you see my previous post here on identifying the codes: http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... ng#p496576

Have a look here too: http://www.commonraildiesels.com/index. ... 49_451_473
( this was based on a C5 2.2 search) and you can see they are different depending on the engine code. What is the VIN?

just rechecked my pics from.last night

the injector I removed from my old 110 c5 has exactly the same number as the one I removed from the 2.2

saying that ..the one I removed could be the wrong one anyway due to.previous owner...

either way .. i will check. the other 3 2.2 ones later

a piece of a jigsaw is starting to fit into place....

It presumably makes more torque at low revs, which is more appropriate for van useage!

How curious. Does it have the balancer shaft of the 16v do you know?
