Re: Re_setting diesel additive level on C8
Have now got full chip kit. Have only installed lexia 345 yet but have pp2000 and Diagbox to try later. Have managed to get into diesel additive ecu but when trying to reset it says "that function is not applicable". Not sure if I am using correct RPO number also don't know which choice to pick in injection section my ecu is Siemens but only giving Bosch choices. Any ideas.

Re: Re_setting diesel additive level on C8
You don't need PP2000 - that's for Peugeot. Diagbox is the software that contains both PP2000 for Peugeot and Lexia for Citroen. It should launch the correct software for your car - in this case Lexia. It is very important that you enter the RPO number correctly, as this will ensure the software knows if there were any ECU revisions doing the production run.
Other preliminary things to do are to make sure you have a well-charged battery, and also to make sure you have plugged the USB connectors into each USB port of your laptop and wait to ensure that your OS picks up and installs the USB drivers for the Actia on each port. I can't actually help with the specific menu for the additive reset as I haven't needed to do mine as yet.
If you post up your VIN, I'll be able to check the correct RPO for you.
What Operating System and version (32/64 bit) are you running?

Re: Re_setting diesel additive level on C8
Thanks again for speedy reply. I have a satellite pro laptop which I formatted and installed XP 32 bit and service pack 3. It will be kept just for lexia/Diagbox use and not allowed onto internet. My vin number is
VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] this is being found by lexia. Have just noticed (in the dark) that there is another plate on the door edge with writing on so that may have RPO. From what I have read today my number should be in the 9000s. The one I have used is 6665 so this was obviously wrong and may be why it would not try to reset diesel additive counter.

Ok, that RPO was definitely wrong! It should be: 10048. Try again with this one.wirdip wrote:Thanks again for speedy reply. Re: Re_setting diesel additive level on C8
Thanks for RPO Marc. I checked door plate today and 10048 was there. Tried with new RPO but still some issues. When I try diagnosis it always asks me to turn on headlights first. Is this normal. If I ignore it goes through diagnosis, when it gets to injection it says yes in first column and ? (Question mark) in second column, any idea why this would be. If I choose injection it gives me 5 Bosch systems to choose from, I have tried all in turn and get the same result, something like "unable to connect with ecu, information may be incorrect if you continue" again I have tried all and get a read out from each but don't know if they are telling me the right info.does anyone know how I can find which injection system I have????

Re: Re_setting diesel additive level on C8
It is normal on my C5 for it to request the headlights are turned on. I think it is because there may be the option for HID lights (with the extra control ECU), and so the Lexia needs to know what it is looking at.

Re: Re_setting diesel additive level on C8
I have to say whenever I have used the Lexia it just picks everything up after the RPO and works whenever I have used it on the C3s. It's Diagbox that I tend to use mostly, so this must be a C5 / C8 specific quirk - although the Global test should still interrogate all the ECUs it finds.
I've had a look from your VIN and you have the Bosch variant of Injection system Alan.

Re: Re_setting diesel additive level on C8
Ok Alan, I can see that was a lot of help (not)! Unfortunately the documentation doesn't list the variant - which is why Lexia should be able to determine this automatically. Anyway, it may not be necessary, as I've done some digging and come up with this specified procedure:
Reinitialise the information from the engine ECU on the total quantity of additive ; Follow the diagnostic equipment procedure :
Reinitialise the information from the engine ECU on the total quantity of additive ; Follow the diagnostic equipment procedure :
- Select the "diagnosis" function
- "choice of vehicle"
- Enter the vehicle’s RPO N°
- Global test
- Injection selection
- Diesel engine
- Aftersales orders, particle filter Reinitialisation of the total additive amount (reset)
- Read then delete the additive total quantity parameter.
- Carry out a reading of the engine ECU fault codes.
- Simulate a filling of the fuel tank in order to switch off the Particle Filter warning lamp :
- Opening of the fuel filler cap
- Add 5 litres of diesel fuel
- Closing of the fuel filler cap
Check the status of the particle filter in parameter measures, using the same method as for a repair (particle filter/additive ECU in the parameters: Particle Filter Status and Particle Filter Inlet/Outlet Pressure Difference) :
If the particulate emission filter is regenerated : Correct
If not : Check the sensor and the sealing of the exhaust line

Re: Re_setting diesel additive level on C8
Is that a fairly general method or just for the C8 (and C5)?
And where it says •Simulate a filling of the fuel tank in order to switch off the Particle Filter warning lamp there's no reason to not put more in, is there?

Re: Re_setting diesel additive level on C8
Hi Paul, no, this procedure was listed specifically for Alan's C8. There isn't any such procedure listed for the X7 in the same area, so assume that it is different or not applicable.Paul-R wrote:Is that a fairly general method or just for the C8 (and C5)?
