I think when there is a stored fault the light flashes instead of lighting for some seconds.

Nope, it just doesn't light up for x seconds with a stored fault. Just like with the Xm. Once you have a stored fault in the ecu the HA icon in the dash stays off. Only when activating the sportsmode with the switch it will be illuminated....

Later Mk1 Xantia's use an electronic speedo like Mk2's. They switched from mechanical speedo cable to electronic speedo in 1995, roughly around the same time that the chevrons moved from the bonnet to the grill.

Both my 1997 Mk1 Xantia's have had electronic speedos.

furriegurrie wrote:My hydractive phase 2 V6 Xantia had the ha control light in the sportsmode switch. A small orange LED which illuminates for a couple of seconds when you fire up the car. It's so small you easily miss it when it does not light up because of a stored fault in the suspension ecu....
Was yours LHD ? My RHD Mk2 Xantia V6 as far as I can remember did not flash the light in the switch when the key was turned on.

The button did have a light that lit when the button was depressed but it only responded to the switch position.

Yes it was. When I got it the light did not illuminate at start up. But when I cleared the faults from the ecu it did...

I wish they'd thought to fit the electronic speedo a couple of years earlier then this job wouldn't have been needed!

I ended up disturbing the rubber return pipe from the brake doseur that is now quite merrily leaking! Like most hydraulic models the return pipe has two connections from the doseur that join in a T and I think it's here where it has split.
