Damper Seal Kit

Post by Cfiver »

Does anyone know where I can get a rear damper piston seal kit for a 2004 C5 2.2 hdi ? My local main dealer tells me that Citroen don't supply them.

Are you sure that you need one? what are the symptoms?

IIRC there is no kit, you have to buy each seal separately. When I say separately, in practice there is a pack size which contains a minimum quantity. Again IIRC I think one was packed in twos and another in fives but I could be mistaken.

They were all still available from the dealers when I enquired a couple of years ago. For what they were they weren't particularly cheap though.

Try one of the dealers on Ebay like Louth. Some dealers have packets open and will sell you singly.

Be careful you haven't just jacked the car while not on high. That can cause a leak from dampers if fluid is high.

Thanks to all for the replies. Symptoms are rear offside gaiter full of fluid and car sits lower on this corner.

Do you have more details about the Ebay dealer 'Louth'? I have searched for this without success.
