Re: Baffled by Lexia! New dumbass question?
Curiosity got the better of me and I dug out one of my scrap yard key fobs (from a C5 actually) and prised it open to see what the chip is.
My sample is Philips branded. The part number printed next to the Philips logo is PCF7936AS and under that is written 292001 14 (looks like a date code) and then under that Dn 0012 VO (not sure what that signifies). It was PCF7936 that was important for ordering a blank virgin chip.

Ay up!
Both keys have new "Virgin" chips in them for the immobiliser but it's getting the fobs paired. I'm going to try and set the locking code to 01 and see what happens. Wish me luck!

Still not sure what you mean when you say pairing the fob.
Is it pairing the key so that it'll be recognised by the car and be allowed to start it or is it so that you can lock/unlock the car remotely?

It,is,to,unlock the car remotely.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to play with it in the near future.
I've also discovered that the "new" lock has bullet connectors so that may make installation easier.
Wish me luck.....

Re: Baffled by Lexia! New dumbass question?
So, is the key now recognised by the car so that it starts the car up?
If so, then you pair the plip action by inserting the key in to the ignition barrel and then press, and hold down, the lock button. Still keeping the button pressed turn the key to the Ign position and hold everything there for (I think) 10 seconds but you could make it 20 just to be sure. If everything's OK the plip now works.
