Ok for the commercial market perhaps, but not for me.
  • It'll soon be time to get one of those Dash mounted cameras - in case you have to give evidence in court against an ECU after an accident.
  • They'll have to ensure there's a 'Car Seat-Injected Intravenous Sedative' option before I let go of the steering wheel and brake pedal (assuming they put them in).
  • I sometimes think they forget it's not just about getting from A to B, some people like the driving experience.
  • It's going to take a lot longer yet for me to be convinced that these are safe and reliable.
  • Electronics and sensors need to be a lhell of a lot more robust than they are at present in cars.
  • Looks like it's time to get the Waxoyl, Ziebart and any other preservative onto my C5

If they do decide to go ahead with cars that can drive themselves I want K.I.T.T. (with all of the optional extras, including the robust body panels)!

Maybe where you live. From what I've used previously in cities - they are slow, unreliable, dirty germ pits.

I don't think I would trust one, they can't possibly cater for every eventually, can they?

I'm already redundant, they did away with TV engineers about the time I retired.

You'll be wanting one like this then James - he has voice activation, a laser fitted, gas jets, touch screen to activate the doors and lights - and wait for it Pacman!

I see Audi are developing a car that can communicate with traffic lights and tell the driver when they're about to change...

Why?

So that Audi drivers have an advantage in the standing start in the traffic lights grand prix?

Seems a bit of a pointless thing to me or is it that Audi drivers are so bad they cannot understand how traffic lights work?

Yes I'm not THAT fond of crowded buses. But here in my bit of Bristol I can get into town down a georgeous road (Portway, alongside the Avon Gorge) on a P+R bus that skims past the jams! But they pale when you experience German set-up, I believe. (Are you surprised? Not privatised!)

I know - I was born in Germany and lived there for many years, you were fined for dropping litter back then in the 70s, crossing the zebra with a red man showing - but everything was spotlessly clean and well-maintained - even the public swimming pools were like landscaped gardens!
