Hi,
I spotted a mis-placed sphere after a recent visit to the mechanic. The guy told me that he's replaced the main accumulator sphere (mounted just in front of the engine coolant radiator). Later I checked the printed number (96 221 207) and found out that this number corresponds to the accumulator sphere of the Hydractive system and not the Main accumulator one.
Can anybody tell me if this mis-placement can cause any significant difference in car handling or even worse - lead to some serious malfunction?
Regards,
Deyan

Welcome to the forum
There is no danger or change of performance if a hydractive sphere is used as an accumulator, as neither type of sphere has any damping elements, and the pressure difference is not significant in this application.
