Just an update, went to a garage today. Last minute job, guy was nice enough but in all honesty pretty useless. In order to fault find he was quite prepared to replace each part bit by bit to rule everything out. Starting with the cheapest parts first and then working his way up the list. He actually read the tips off here and said it was sound advice ! He wanted me to screen shot the instructions so he knew what he was looking at at. Confidence was zero in the guy so I've come away no better off. I might give it a run tomorrow and check the hose temperatures as mentioned. For the sake of say 15 quid I'll change the sensor first.

I'm guessing it's fan related though if my air con isn't blowing cold ?

Just to let you know I really appreciated everyone who's gave up their time to write a response, top fellas. I've got some direction and it rally helped when dealing with the mech today.
